Statistics
The Grants Office of the Velocity Interoperability Network publishes statistics on the Grant Fund it administers: applications received, awards made, provision committed and money paid. This first release covers the transition period from 10 August to 5 September 2026, during which grant applications were assessed under interim arrangements by a panel drawn from member organisations, and records the position at establishment on 6 September 2026.
The figures are drawn from the records of the interim panel, from returns supplied by member organisations and from the Office's own records. Figures for the transition period are provisional and will be revised in later releases where late returns are received. Figures for the six current programmes will first be reported in the release covering the quarter ending 31 December 2026.
The position at establishment. The figures below record the Grant Fund at the point of the Office's establishment.
- 1.86m
- Credits of provision available to award under the six programmes in the period to 31 December 2026
- 412,500
- Credits committed by the 37 interim awards transferred to the Office at establishment
- 96
- Applications received under the interim arrangements from 10 August to 5 September 2026
- 42
- Member organisations eligible to apply to the principal programmes
Provision of 1.86m credits for the six programmes, appropriated within the transitional budget of the Network, is distinct from the 412,500 credits committed by the interim awards, which were funded from the pre-establishment arrangements and transferred to the Office for administration at establishment. Where a programme is undersubscribed at its closing date, the Office may move provision to another programme; any transfer is recorded in the next release.
Applications and awards during the transition. Ninety-six applications were received and thirty-seven awards made in the four weeks before establishment. Of the fifty-nine applications not awarded, forty-one were refused against the interim criteria, twelve were withdrawn by the applicant and six remain with the Office for consideration under the programmes now open.
| Measure | 10 to 23 August | 24 August to 5 September | Total |
|---|---|---|---|
| Applications received | 52 | 44 | 96 |
| Awards made | 19 | 18 | 37 |
| Credits committed | 214,700 | 197,800 | 412,500 |
| Applications not awarded | 24 | 35 | 59 |
The fall in applications between the two halves of the period reflects the closing of the interim arrangements to new applications on 29 August 2026; applications received after that date were held for the programmes the Office has since opened. Awards remained level, the interim panel working through the applications received before the close.
Awards by class of recipient. The thirty-seven interim awards were made to four classes of body.
| Class of recipient | Awards | Credits committed |
|---|---|---|
| Member organisations | 21 | 268,800 |
| Research bodies | 6 | 88,300 |
| Education bodies | 4 | 22,300 |
| Community bodies | 6 | 33,100 |
