The Grants Office of the Velocity Interoperability Network has been formally established. The Office is responsible for the grant programmes of the Network: it sets the terms on which grants are offered, assesses applications, makes awards from the Grant Fund, pays and monitors those awards, and publishes a register of every grant it makes.

The Office administers the Grant Fund on behalf of the Network. Provision for the transitional period from 6 September to 31 December 2026 is 1.86m credits, appropriated within the transitional budget of the Network. Grants are made to member organisations, to research bodies working on the standards and measurement of the Network, to education bodies and to community bodies providing public access to Network services.

With its establishment complete, the Office today launches its official website at grants.gov.vin. The site carries press releases and official statements, the terms of every open programme, guidance on how to apply, the conditions attached to an award and the register of awards made. Three further announcements published today set out the opening of six grant programmes, the arrangements for applying to them, and the register of awards carried over from the interim arrangements that preceded establishment. General enquiries may be sent to contact@grants.gov.vin.
